Coventry’s fashion designer Daniel Lismore was spotted in Nuneaton – for a special reason. Dubbed ‘England’s most eccentric dresser’ by fashion bible Vogue, the celebrated designer lent his expertise to crafters from the neighbouring town.
He helped members of the ‘In Stitches – Escape Arts Nuneaton group.’ The event was organised through the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, where he showcased his incredible ‘Be Yourself; Everyone Else is Already Taken’.
He helped the Nuneaton group with a special mannequin they are making. The group described it as an ‘amazing’ day and said that they are looking forward to showcasing their mannequin later this month.
They say that they are preparing for a Daniel inspired 25th Birthday celebration Escaporium ball. Born in Bournemouth, Lismore then grew up in Fillongley before studying photography and fashion design at what was Butts College in the city centre.
He has created clothing for famous models and pop stars as well as designing costumes for the English National Opera and played a big part in Coventry Moves, the opening ceremony for Coventry UK City of Culture.
His surprise to help the Nujneaton group came just a few days before he joined thousands of revellers at Radio 1 Big Weekend 2022 in his home city of Coventry.
His acclaimed exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery runs until June 26.
