Where To Shop The Biggest Spring Summer Trends
For fashion devotees, entering the spring-summer seasons means time to assess what’s in our wardrobes, think about how our styles have changed over the year and examine what new ideas have emerged in fashion. That’s why we’ve rounded up the biggest trends on and off the runway for our spring-summer 2022 fashion trend report and scoured the internet to find where to shop them so that you don’t have to.
Halter Neckline
The halter neckline is effortlessly elegant and versatile. Brands like Prada and Norma Kamali have followed conventional codes for the halter necklines this season, but more experimental versions of the neckline have emerged too. For example, Bottega Veneta‘s fluid halter top is rendered with a rope tassel that dangles around the neckline and Raisa Vanessa’s crystal-embellished halter midi dress (pictured below).
rompers
The rompers du jour are often rendered in comfortable fabric, like terrycloth, and come in bold colour-blocking or fun prints. They’re an easy outfit to put together for a walk down the promenade or to lounge poolside on a hot summer day. Their magic is in their simplicity and comfort.
Mirco Miniskirts
Call it frequency illusion, but after the Miu Miu micro miniskirt started a firestorm of memes, micro-minis have been everywhere. From Bluemarine to Balmain, it’s become one of the biggest spring-summer 2022 fashion trends to transcend the runway. Although the “micro” element of these skirts might scare off people that lean toward casual styles, it does have a “Euphoria high” ethos that garners mass appeal. It’s no wonder why we can’t seem to get enough of them.
sequins
Sequins are party-ready detailing on any top or dress and make an outfit transform easily from day to night. With the disco-ball effect of the sequins reflecting in the sun or under flashing lights, you’re the life of the party, no matter where you are.
cut-outs
Cut-outs are part of the larger deconstructed fashion trend that rejects convention and embraces creative stitching, tears, or holes. The style has been popularized by brands like Nensi Dojaka (the 2021 break-away label that’s responsible for the sheer trend) and by models like Bella Hadid. They add an unexpected element to any outfit that sits comfortably at the intersection of edgy and sophisticated. As it goes today, the more prominent the cut-out, the more eye-catching the outfit.
Purple
With the rise in dopamine dressing, people have used colourful fashion to boost morale and fashion houses are taking notes. Clothing is progressively more colourful with each season and purple has become one of the biggest fashion colour trends of 2022. Pantone dubbed purple, specifically Veri Peri, as the colour of the year, saying that it has “a carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit.”
BraLettes
Bralettes received fanfare with brands like Jacquemus and Khaite transforming our perception of bras as tops. They’re perfect for the heat of summer and are easily styled whether it’s done modestly with an oversized blazer or worn as a cool, skin-baring garment against the summer sun. Bonus points if the garment has a strappy cross-body detailing.
